Pond construction is some of the proudest work we do around Buna, Vidor, Silsbee, Lumberton and all across Southeast Texas. A pond changes a property — water for cattle, a place to fish, somewhere for the grandkids to spend a summer, and a retention basin that gives storm water somewhere to go besides your barn. We dig them with our own excavator and dozer: basin dug, banks shaped and sloped, and the spoil dirt put to work instead of left in a heap.
Southeast Texas is good pond country when the dig matches the dirt. Parts of this area hold water beautifully and parts run to sand that drinks it — the difference decides where the pond goes and how it's built. We've been reading that difference since 1999. Pond jobs pair naturally with clearing the site and dirt work with the spoil, so one estimate covers the whole picture.

A pond is a hole, a bank and a plan for water — and all three have to be right. The dig sets the depth and shape; the banks decide whether it keeps its edges or slumps them into the water; the overflow decides what happens in the storm that will absolutely come. We build all three deliberately: depth where it serves the pond, banks sloped so they hold and mow, and overflow routed where extra water does no harm.
The ground itself gets a vote. Clay bottoms hold water; sandy stretches let it walk off. Before anything gets dug we look at what your dirt is and tell you honestly what kind of pond it will support and where on the property it wants to sit. A pond in the right spot takes care of itself for decades.
A cattle tank, a bass pond and a retention basin are three different builds wearing the same name. Stock ponds want easy access and reliable depth through a dry August. Fishing ponds want varied depth, clean structure and banks you can work a rod from. Retention ponds are pure function — sized to swallow the runoff this climate throws, with an outfall that behaves.
